Here’s a quick update on our recent developments:
Pricing
We’ve updated the pricing for all our devices and introduced an optional onboarding support package. This support includes 2 hours of assistance, which you can use in one session or split into up to four 30-minute calls. This can be through calls, video calls, screen sharing, or SSH remote access sessions. If you purchased a Nodl Two at the full price (€999 before tax), you automatically qualify for this support if you wish. You also have the option to save the 2 hours for future questions or device assistance.
Warranty
All our devices now come with a 5-year “limited” warranty. Here’s how it works:
•First 2 years (EU Legal Requirement): We provide a 2-year warranty as required by EU law, including free shipping of a replacement device. However, you’ll need to cover the shipping costs to send the old device back to us.
•Years 3 to 5: After the initial 2 years, we continue to offer warranty coverage until 5 years from the date of purchase. In this period, you cover the shipping costs to send the device to us. Ideally, we ask that you send your old device first so we can troubleshoot it, replace any faulty parts, and ship it back to you. Depending on the case, we may ship you a new device instead of attempting repairs.
The “limited” aspect of the warranty relates to the SSDs in your device. SSDs come with a limited warranty from their manufacturers, which does not cover wear-out from usage. That’s why we’ve added an estimated lifetime indicator in the Nodl UI. If the SSDs need replacement, the customer will be responsible for covering the cost of new drives with prior agreement.
Out-of-Warranty Support
For devices older than 5 years and no longer under warranty, we offer an out-of-warranty support option. Customers can return the device to us at their own cost, and we will attempt repairs and data recovery if needed (e.g., for lightning wallet data). We can replace the SSD or other components as required. Parts will be charged to the customer, along with labor at a rate of €100 per hour (before tax) and shipping costs for returning the device.
Alternatively, if you’re the owner of a “Nodl OG” (first-generation model with the power button on the case), you are eligible for an exclusive discount on purchasing a newer model from our catalog.
Shipping Times
•In-Stock Devices: Typically ship within 2-3 business days.
•Back-Ordered Devices: Ship within 2-3 weeks.
TL;DR
•All Nodls now come with an optional onboarding support package (€200 before tax) for up to 4 x 30-minute calls or remote sessions.
•For the first 2 years after purchase, we’ll send you a new device for free if needed, and you cover the cost of shipping the old one back to us.
•For years 3 to 5, you cover the shipping to us, and we’ll attempt to repair the device. If repairs aren’t possible, we’ll send you a new one (you cover the shipping costs).
•SSD wear-out is not covered by the warranty. If SSDs need replacement, the customer will cover the cost of new drives.
